American Idol 10 – Top 5 Gala
Casey Abrams bid goodbye to the show last week. Who’s off to leaving the show this week? Any guess?
Today’s theme is “Now and Then”. The finalists will be singing two songs each, a modern song and one from the 60’s. Let’s see their performances.
James Durbin sang Closer To The Edge (by 30 Seconds to Mars). It seems like he’s ready to make a concert! He still can’t hit the low notes though. Steven said he kicked that song’s ass. Randy said “He’s on it to win it!” line.
Jacob Lusk sang No Air (by Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown)
Jacob sang Jordin’s and Chris’s parts but Randy didn’t see that coming. There were some notes that he didn’t hit and he still have this creepy way of looking at you as he sings! Hahaha! Randy didn’t like it, but J-Lo said it was great!
Lauren Alaina sang Flat On My Feet (by Carrie Underwood)
She still looks like a bit uncomfortable on stage. She sings great though! A powerful country song! Steven said, it’s as good as it gets; Randy thought she’s in the right direction.
Scotty McCreery sang Gone (by Montgomery Gentry)
A better performance from Scotty. The backup singers really gave the performance a variety and the energetic side of Scotty really shows! J-Lo was excited about it as Randy felt that he’s watching Scotty’s concert! Steven said he’s dancing with the devil tonight.
Haley Reinhart sang You And I (by Lady Gaga)
This is a song that Lady Gaga never released to date (she only sings this song in her concert). Jimmy Iovine asked her to sing this song. J-Lo thinks it wasn’t a good idea to sing this unreleased song. Steven said it was a beautiful song, and only Steven gave a positive comment.
The Songs From The 60’s
James Durbin sang Without You (by Harry Nilson)
This arrangement that he made was nice, but it doesn’t fit his voice. Steven said it was pitchy. Randy said it’s a true mark of a great performer at it was perfectly done emotionally.
Jacob Lusk sang Love Hurts (by Nazareth)
It seems that there was no consistency as he sings the song. Nevertheless, the judges think it was a beautiful performance.
Lauren Alaina sang Unchained Melody (by Righteous Brothers)
Lauren looks gorgeous on this song. It was beautifully done! Steven said that Lauren’s ripe already! Randy thinks she sings like a bird.
Scotty McCreery sang Always On My Mind (by Elvis Presley)
I love this performance! The best song he ever sang!
Haley Reinhart sang House of the Rising Sun (by The Animals)
Haley started the song as an acapella which is really good. Judges gave her a standing ovation on this.
MY BOTTOM THREE
I miss Simon!
Top performances for me would be Lauren and Haley. I hope Jacob gets out of the competition tomorrow, or maybe James. Please let’s save Haley!

American Idol 10 – Top 6 Gala
Stefano Langone went home last week, and so we’re down to the final 6.
Let’s see how it will go as the final 6 will be pairing off to do some duets from Carole King aside from their solo performances.
Jacob Lusk sang Oh No Not My Baby
For me, it sounds like a mess! Steven thinks though that it was beautifully done. J-Lo said that it was a tricky song and there were some imperfections. Randy said that the scatting was incredible but there were some errors.
Lauren Alaina sang Where You Lead (I Will Follow)
It was cool! But Lauren needs to work on her attitude on stage. She brought a fan from the audience which sat with her on the stage as she sang. Steven said that she shone tonight. Randy said she came out with like a swagger with vengeance.
Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart sang I Feel The Earth Move
They do not have the harmony but they had that vibe going! I like this performance and I am loving Haley! Steven loves their performance.
Scotty McCreery sang You Got A Friend
Safe song for Scotty as it fits his voice. I enjoyed this version than the original one. Steven liked it. Randy said it was done flawlessly. J-Lo said that Scotty’s strength was storytelling.
James Durbin sang Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow
Looks like he’s trying to make a David Cook in here! He turned a slow, love song into a more rock version this time! J-Lo enjoyed it and calls it the best of the night. Randy said it was the best of the season and that he might win the whole thing. Steven said it was the first song he made out to! Hahaha!
Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery sang Up On The Roof
I did not see much connection with this pair. Anyway, Lauren was definitely the star in this duet and Scotty do not exists! J-Lo said, Lauren sang her brains out.
Casey Abrams sang Hi-De-Ho (That Old Sweet Roll)
This guy is so musically inclined! Steven said it was beautifully done. J-Lo said Casey was in his element. Randy said it sounds like the song was written for Casey.
Haley Reinhart sang Beautiful
I love her performance! J-Lo said it was beautiful and that she has the best voice to show! Randy thinks the beginning was not really good but Haley ended the song very well. Steven loves it too!
James Durbin and Jacob Lusk sang I’m Into Something Good
James got some Grease thing going on! It seems that James is more comfortable and confident on stage than Jacob. Steven said it looked like they were having fun, but surprisingly he also said that it was not that good at all!
MY BOTTOM THREE
It was a great night with some notable performances. The best performance for me was Haley’s. Lauren was nice also and James might be safe again this week. For the duet, James and Jacob made a lasting impression, but vocally, I think it was Lauren and Scotty (technically).
My bottom three will be Jacob, Casey, and Haley. Haley may be booted out because of the small amount of fans that she have.

American Idol Season 10 - Top 7 Results
The results night brought Stefano Langone back home, as James gave him a big hug and lifted him as they circle around the stage! Am I seeing a bromance here? lol..
Rounding out the bottom 3 were Haley Reinhart and Jacob Lusk.
Season 10 Top 6:
Scott McCreery
Jacob Lusk
Lauren Alaina
Casey Abrams

American Idol 10 – Top 7 Gala
Previously, it was Paul McDonald who was sent home. Paul’s one-dimensional quirkiness seemed to be not enough to make it even farther with the competition. Paul, Stefano and Haley completed last week’s bottom group. Let’s see how these amazing talents glaze the stage tonight as they’re about to sing music from the 21st century.
Scotty McCreery sang Swinging by LeAnn Rimes
With his weird mic hold, I think he does a good job. Tyler loves it. J-Lo loves it too but she’s expecting more from Scotty. Randy said it was safe and boring. Finally, old singing style of Scotty has been discovered.
James Durbin sang Uprising by Muse
James surprised the crowd by bringing in a marching band with him to the stage! Steven even told him to get out of his closet. Hahaha! Is he a gay? J-Lo said it was the best performance of the night theatrically. Jackson said he was unbelievable. Again, his stage presence and showmanship hid his musical bad side.
Haley Reinhart sang Rolling in The Deep by Adele
I love how she sang the song and it really matches her persona. Tyler thinks it was a great performance. J-Lo said it takes a lot of guts to sing that song from Adele. Jackson said she chose the perfect direction for her.
Jacob Lusk sang Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross
He was very emotional at the beginning making him stumble for some words. J-Lo said he has to have enough control. Jackson said it was a great performance emotionally but it wasn’t good vocally. We want the old Jacob back!
Casey Abrams sang Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5
Abrams can do Maroon 5 so good! He can do it even without the backup singers. He kissed J-Lo’s cheek at the end and Tyler said he did what’s he’s trying to do for two months.
Stefano Langone sang Closer by Ne-Yo
This song makes him look like he’s trying so hard to stay.J-Lo thought it was very good, like in a concert and she really, really likes it. Seriously?
Lauren Alaina sang Born to Fly by Sarah Evans
Lauren sang it well knowing that the song is just like a typical country song. J-Lo said she can do that (country) and wants her to do it. Jackson said she can sing anything but she has to believe it.
MY BOTTOM THREE (3)
This week would probably be Stefano, Scotty and Jacob, is it just me or is American Idol 10 gets really boring? Who will be going home tomorrow?
